Baseball Sweeps Ospreys to Conclude Spring Break Trip

AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Keystone College baseball team finished their spring break schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Stockton University by scores of 12-2 and 7-2 on Thursday.

Game One: Keystone 12, Stockton 2 (7 inn.)

A five run seventh inning helped lead the Giants to a mercy run rule win. Carlos Pascual (Paterson, N.J./International) and Dante Ruby (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) both had three hits and three RBI. Pascual had an RBI single and a two run double while Ruby launched a two-run home run along with an RBI single.  Nate Ewing (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area), Robert Estrada (Maracay, Venezuela/James J. Ferris), and Andy Rivas (Bronx, N.Y./Academy for Language and Technology) combined for six hits and five runs batted in.

Sean Brennan (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) earned his third win of the season as he pitched six innings while giving up one earned run with five strikeouts. Brandon Girod (Elgin, Tex./Elgin) pitched in the final inning and recorded a strikeout.

Game Two: Stockton 2, Keystone 7

Greg Verano (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) went 2-for-4 with two RBI doubles. Ruby and Cooper Fesh (Bethel, Conn./Bethel) both tallied an RBI.

Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y./Sidney) was the game two starter and pitched five innings while striking out five. Dylan Byler (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) tossed three innings and punched out six batters. Noah Parks (Maple Valley, Wash./Tahoma) came in the ninth and struck out a batter.

What's Next

Keystone (9-2) is back on the field next Thursday, Mar. 20 for their home opener against Susquehanna University at 3:30 p.m.
