EDWARDSVILLE, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team dropped a nonconference road game to Wilkes University 11-5 Thursday evening at Bruggeworth Field.
Wilkes scored 10 unanswered runs through the four innings which was highlighted by a five run fourth. The Giants cracked the scoring column with three runs in the sixth off two RBI base hits and a SAC fly. The Colonels added an additional run in the seventh off a throwing error.
Keystone scored two in the eighth as Robert Estrada (Maracay, Venezuela/James J. Ferris) singled to left center to score Andy Rivas (Bronx, N.Y./Academy for Language and Technology) and Chase Boyle (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) brought home a run with a double.
Boyle, Rivas and Carlos Pascual (Paterson, N.J./International) were the lone players with a multi-hit game. Julian Gonzalez (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) got the start and went 1.1 innings with a strikeout. The fifth year gave up five earned runs off five hits. Brandon Girod (Elgin, Tex./Elgin) and Brandon Valles (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) were among five pitchers that appeared in relief for Keystone as the two both struck out a batter.
Keystone (21-8) hosts Wilson College in a United East Conference doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 19 at 12 p.m.
