Softball Splits at Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa.- The Keystone College softball team split with Rosemont College this afternoon as they dropped the first game in walk-off fashion 4-3, but one game two with the same exact score.

Game One: Keystone 3, Rosemont 4

Rosemont started off strong as they had an RBI double in the first followed by a two-run single in the second.

Keystone added two runs thein the third as Angelina Morley (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) ripped a single which scored on followed by an Isabella Mandarano (Dunmore, Pa./Dunmore) RBI SAC groundout.

Morley would tie the game for the Giants in the seventh with an RBI double. The Ravens would walk it off in the bottom half of the seventh as Maria Harrison plated the winning with a single.

Isabella Benitez (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Morley had two hits with two RBI. Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) started in the circle and went the distance with four earned runs off eight hits and six strikeouts.

Game Two: Keystone 4, Rosemont 3

The Giants opened the scoring with three runs in the second as Morley singled to score Benitez and a Kiara Taylor (Berlin, Md./Decatur) two RBI double.

Rosemont made the game closer with a two run double in the third and would tie the contest with an RBI single. In the top of the seventh, Julia Gorel (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area) hit a go ahead single to bring home Mandarano to give the Giants the lead and eventually the win.

Benitez secured her third win of the season as she tossed a complete with three strikeouts.

What's Next

Keystone (5-17, 3-8 United East) returns to the field after Easter as they face Penn State Harrisburg for a single game on Monday, Apr. 21 at 3 p.m.
