Women’s Volleyball Opens 2025 Season at King’s Tri-Match

WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Keystone College women's volleyball team suffered two setbacks to open the 2025 season at a tri-match hosted by King's College.

The team fell to Penn State Schuylkill 3-1 followed by a loss to King's 3-0 Saturday evening at Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Giants dropped the first sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-11. They bounced back to take the third set 25-21 but eventually fell in the fourth, 25-20.

Indya Rogers (Leeds, Ala./Leeds) led the squad with 10 kills. Serenity Marshall (Ridgefield, Wash./Ridgefield) and Madison Woods (Camrose, Alberta, Canada/Ecole Camrose Composite) combined for 17 kills. Marshall added 11 digs in the first match. Nat Reyes (Lamont, Calif./Arvin) posted a match high 15 digs. Naema Alatorre (Brownsville, Tex./Idea Frontier) finished with 16 assists.

Offensively, Amanda Burns posted 14 kills in the win. Ryleigh Sinko was an assist machine as she piled 34 in the four-set battle. Lyla Kerhsner and Lainey Dusel had 15 and 10 digs, respectively.

Keystone 0, King's 3

Keystone loss in straight sets to the host Monarchs by scores of 25-10, 25-8, and 25-14. Abigail Cornell (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) posted double digits assists as she had 10 in the defeat.

For the Monarch's, Theresa Lynch tallied 10 kills. Ariela Towsey recorded 19 assists while Emma Bolich posted eight service aces.

What's Next

Keystone (0-2) heads to Misericordia on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m.
