Giants Can’t Hold Late Lead in Narrow Setback to Penn College

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team couldn't hold onto a double-digit halftime lead as Penn College surged in the second half to earn an 80–77 United East victory Wednesday evening in the Gambal Athletic Center.

Keystone got 17 points from PJ Murphy (Scranton, Pa./Scranton), who knocked down three triples, while Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech) and Tyler Ditton (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) each scored 14. Jden Golding (Jacksonville, Fla./Clay) added 11 points and five assists, and Demetrius Thomas (Atlanta, Ga./North Clayton) finished with nine rebounds and five points.

Peyton Murphy paced Penn with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Octavio Alexander added 14 points, six boards and seven assists. Jay Henry chipped in 12 points and five assists, and Landon Reeder posted 10 points and six rebounds.

Owen Newcomer supplied 10 points, and Cydae Joseph-Davis delivered an energetic 8-point, 6-rebound effort off the bench.

The Giants led 42–32 at the break after shooting 46 percent from three in the opening half, but the visitors flipped the game after halftime, shooting nearly 57 percent from the floor and outscoring Keystone 48–35 to pull out the victory.

Penn College outrebounded the Giants 43-38 and had a 25-19 edge on fast-break points.

Keystone (3-12, 1-3 United East) heads to Lancaster Bible College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
