ROSEMONT, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team earned a spot in the United East Conference Tournament with a 64-59 against Rosemont College Saturday afternoon.
Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech) and PJ Murphy (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) led the way offensively with 14 points apiece, while Jden Golding (Jacksonville, Fla./Clay) added 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Niame Scott (Philadelphia, Pa./Mount Pleasant) chipped in 12 points off the bench, and Tyler Ditton (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) provided eight points and was 2-for-3 shooting from beyond the arc.
Brandon Moore paced Rosemont with 13 points, while Zaki Gomez and Ty Jones each finished with 10.
Rosemont (4-18, 3-9 United East) jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the opening minutes before Keystone settled in. The Giants battled back behind improved shooting and trailed by just one, 27-26, late in the first half before taking a 28-27 edge into the break.
The second half featured seven ties and nine lead changes, with neither team able to gain full control. Keystone built its largest lead of the game at 10 points midway through the period, but the Ravens responded to trim the deficit to two in the final seconds.
After Rosemont cut the margin to 61-59 with 15 seconds remaining, Jones answered with a driving layup off a Golding assist to push the lead back to four. Following a defensive stop, Scott knocked down a free throw in the closing seconds to seal the five-point victory.
Keystone finished 6-of-17 from three-point range and 14-of-24 at the free throw line while limiting Rosemont to 40.7 percent shooting and 26.9 percent from long distance.
The Giants conclude the regular season with an overall record of 7-18 (4-9 United East). They secured the No. 10 seed in the conference tournament and will travel to face No. 7 seed St. Mary's College of Maryland in the United East First Round on Wednesday.
