LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's wrestling team suffered a narrow 24-21 defeat to Elmira College Saturday morning at the Gambal Athletic Center.

The match opened with back-to-back no contests at 125 and 141 pounds before Keystone picked up the first points of the dual at 133, where Tanner Pringle (Factoryville, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) earned a forfeit to give the Giants a 6–0 lead.

The Soaring Eagles answered quickly at 149, as Victor Hyland earned a win by fall at the 1:59 mark to even the team score at 6–6.

Elmira continued to build its advantage with a forfeit win at 157, moving ahead 12–6, but Keystone responded with one of its strongest performances at 165. Codi Bomboy (Montrose, Pa./Elk Lake) delivered a decisive 14–3 major decision over Kaiden Ellis.

The middle of the lineup favored Elmira, which collected forfeits at 174 and 184 to extend its lead to 24–9.

Keystone refused to fold, however, and began to chip away late in the dual. At 197 pounds, Mariano Monacelli (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) picked up a forfeit to make it 24–15.

Nero Bono (Southboro, Mass./Assabet Valley) capped the final bout at 285 pounds with a commanding pin of John Robyck at 5:45.

Keystone hosts Misericordia University in their final home dual meet of the season on Friday, Feb. 13 at 6 p.m.
