Flag Football Competes in United East Doubleheader

LANGHORNE, Pa. - The Keystone College women's flag football team traveled to Cairn University on Saturday, competing against the host Highlanders and Gallaudet University in United East Conference action.

The Giants (0-4, 0-3 United East) fell to Cairn 12-6 in the opener before losing to the Bison 54-14. Keystone will return to action on Saturday, March 28, in a road doubleheader against Cedar Crest and Lancaster Bible, starting at 12:30 pm.

Game One: Cairn 12, Keystone 6

Hailee Hackett (Carmicahel, Calif./Rio Americano) hauled in five receptions for 48 yards, including a touchdown in the second quarter. Jayda Price (York, Pa./William Penn) finished with three catches, while Desiree Stamps (Alpharetta, Ga./Centennial) paced the Giants with two receptions.

Nataly Bermudez (Las Vegas, NV/Valley) completed eight passes for 80 yards while Brandy Seise (Nanticoke, Pa./Greater Nanticoke Area) notched three completions.

Defensively, Price led Keystone with five tackles. Tayana Bibbins (Lincoln, Del./Sussex Technical) followed with four, and Hackett made three stops with a 14-yard interception return. Stamps notched two sacks.

Game Two: Gallaudet 54, Keystone 14

Against the Bison, Stamps played the majority of the game at quarterback, going 12-for-28 with 154 yards and two touchdowns. 

Phaneirra Barnett (Baltimore, Md./Edgewood) tallied eight catches for 145 yards and two scores, including a 66-yard reception. Price, Hackett, and Bibbins all recorded two catches each.

Naema Alatorre (Brownsville, Tex./Idea Frontier) made eight solo stops and Malina Alexander (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) finished with five tackles. Price tallied four tackles and one pick while Bibbins and Barnett combined for five stops.
