Keystone Shows Fight in Final Non-Conference Matchup Against Montclair State

LA PLUME, PA- Keystone battled throughout all four quarters but ultimately fell to Montclair State, 26-6, in the team's final non-conference game of the season on Thursday evening.

Despite the final score, Keystone put together a number of strong drives and controlled possession for over 30 minutes, showcasing both offensive and defensive prowess throughout.

After Montclair State struck early in the first quarter, Keystone continued to settle into the game and found its rhythm in the second. The Giants' best moment came on an impressive 11-play, 66-yard drive that lasted over nine minutes. Desiree Stamps (Alpharetta, Ga./Centennial) capped off the possession with a 10-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 13-6 and giving Keystone momentum heading into halftime.

Offensively, Stamps led the way with a balanced performance, completing 19 passes while also leading the team in rushing with 67 yards and a score. Keystone's passing attack spread the ball effectively, with multiple receivers contributing, including Hailee Hackett (Carmicahel, Calif./Rio Americano) and Phaneirra Barnett (Baltimore, Md./Edgewood), who combined for 11 receptions.

Defensively, Keystone showed flashes throughout the contest. Tayana Bibbins (Lincoln, Del./Sussex Technical) led the team with five tackles, while Hailee Hackett (Carmicahel, Calif./Rio Americano) added a sack and multiple impact plays.

Keystone consistently worked to move the ball, finishing with more first downs than Montclair State and converting multiple fourth-down attempts. The Giants also held a significant edge in time of possession, highlighting their ability to sustain drives and compete throughout.

Montclair State was able to capitalize on a few big plays, including long touchdown connections and efficient scoring drives, but Keystone continued to respond with effort and physicality until the final whistle.

The Giants playoffs hopes remain alive as the team heads into the final tri-match of the season against Cedar Crest and Gallaudet University on April 18. A win over Cedar Crest will guarantee their spot in the postseason.
