ASTON, PA- Keystone delivered a determined and well-rounded offensive performance on Tuesday afternoon, battling until the final out in a 9–7 contest against Neumann at Bruder Field.
Neumann 9, Keystone 7:
The Giants showcased their depth at the plate, finishing with nine hits and producing runs across five different innings. Keystone set the tone early, capitalizing on opportunities in the opening frame to take an early lead. That early momentum carried into the middle innings, where the Giants continued to string together quality at-bats and apply steady pressure.
Throughout the game, Keystone's lineup proved difficult to contain. Multiple players contributed offensively, with the Giants consistently finding ways to get runners on base and move them into scoring position. Whether through timely base hits, patient approaches at the plate, or aggressive base running, Keystone kept the pressure on and refused to let the game slip away.
The Giants continued to chip away as the game progressed, responding in key moments and keeping the deficit within reach. Their persistence paid off in the later innings, as Keystone turned in a strong push that brought the game back within striking distance. Clutch hitting in the eighth and ninth innings highlighted the team's ability to rise to the moment and made for a competitive finish.
Keystone also saw solid efforts throughout the game in key situations, working out of jams and limiting further momentum swings to keep the contest tight. The group's ability to respond and compete in every inning reflected the consistency that has defined much of the season.
Despite the final score, the Giants' effort and execution at the plate stood out, along with their resilience in continuing to battle deep into the game. With contributions coming from throughout the lineup and a relentless approach from start to finish, Keystone showed the kind of fight that will serve them well moving forward.
The Giants look ahead to their playoff run, which starts on Friday, May 1, as the team welcomes Penn State Brandywine to Christy Mathewson Field. Keystone looks to advance to its 22nd straight championship series. A win in game one against the Lions will give head coach Jamie Shevchik his 800th career win.
