Keystone College Sports Medicine program is comprised of three full-time Certified Athletic Trainers. As a staff, we coordinate expert healthcare services for over 300 student-athletes. 

Keystone College Sports Medicine will create a comfortable and caring environment within the facilities by respecting the dignity of each individual, student-athlete, providing a positive, healthy recovery experience, an improved quality of life, and a safe return to full athletic participation. The staff will be mindful of the “total athlete” including the student-athlete’s mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being. 

Vision

The Keystone College Sports Medicine program shall provide prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions, to the college’s NCAA Division III student-athletes. The Athletic Training Staff is committed to becoming leaders in sports medicine services in NCAA Division III athletics. 

Mission

The Keystone College Sports Medicine program delivers traditional athletic training and sports medicine services to Keystone College student-athletes. The services provided can be divided into five domains:

1. Risk Reduction, Wellness, and Health Literacy

2. Assessment, Evaluation, and Diagnosis

3. Critical Incident Management

4. Therapeutic Intervention

5. Healthcare Administration and Professional Responsibility 

The athletic training staff will work in conjunction with the team physicians and athletic administration to assure that the student-athletes receive quality patient- and service-oriented care throughout their career at Keystone College, by:

1. Providing easy access to sports medicine services and staff who will be responsive to the needs of the student-athlete;

2. Encouraging a philosophy of athletic participation, placing a high value on health and wellness;

3. Utilizing a proactive approach to reduce the risk of athletic injury for our student-athletes; and

4. Facilitating a medically safe return to athletic participation as soon as possible.

The needs of the student-athlete will always come first for the sports medicine staff. The Keystone Sports Medicine staff’s goal is to provide our patients with the best health care possible. To do this, we strive to use the most current evidence-based practices and techniques to provide the highest standard of care.

We are committed to: 

1. The on-going evaluation of our sports medicine program;

2. Addressing problems and concerns in a timely manner, so the needs of our student-athletes and employees can continue to be met;

3. The continuous upgrading of equipment used in the delivery of sports medicine services; 

4. Further addressing issues of increased staffing; and

5. The continuing of our education, clinical skills, code of ethics, and professional development that will assure the most modern and professional care available to our student-athletes.

We act upon the recommendations and guidelines as established by the NCAA Sports Medicine Committee, the United East Conference, the Zurich Concussion Guidelines, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

To All Student-Athletes: 

2025-2026 Preseason Physicals and Required Documentation 

Please email your coach your name, date of birth, and keystone email. Jared Paulin, Athletic Trainer, will create an account for you on Healthy Roster utilizing this information. You will receive an email from Healthy Roster to fill out your information and associated medical forms. Completion of this paperwork and additional requirements on Healthy Roster are necessary and required before participation in your sport(s). 

Please note: You need a physician to sign your two-page physical located on Healthy Roster. You need to utilize the physical form provided to you. An alternative physical form from a physician's office will NOT work and cannot be utilized for clearance. 

This information includes the following:

-Health History, Wellness Questionnaire, and Physical Form (Pages 7 & 8)

-Attach a front and back copy of your insurance card

-Attach your sickle cell results: If you provided the results in a previous year, please update a copy of your results. Hospitals test for sickle cell trait at birth. You can have the physician reorder blood work or access the place of birth's medical records office for the result. 

-Read and watch NCAA educational materials on Concussions and Sickle Cell Trait. Sign documentation accordingly.

-FERPA Acknowledgement Form

Again, please provide your coach with your name, DOB, and Keystone email address to initiate the process of joining Healthy Roster. All of the above information is provided on Healthy Roster and must be completed and uploaded before you participate in NCAA Division III athletics at Keystone College.
