The 2018 season will be Ken Durling’s first season with the Giants and his fourth year as an assistant coach. He joins the Giants' coaching staff after spending the past two years as a graduate assistant at Centenary University. While at Centenary, Durling worked with the hitters and outfielders and received his masters degree in Leadership and Public Administration. Prior to becoming a graduate assistant, he started his coaching career at his alma mater, Misericordia University. There, he worked with the hitters and outfielders, and helped lead them to their fifth straight conference title at the time.
Durling graduated from Misericordia in 2013, where he received his bachelor’s degree in sport management. During his playing career, Durling helped lead Misericordia to three straight conference championships. He started all four years and left there as the all-time leader in hits (234), doubles (63), RBI (175), games played (179), total bases (405) and second in home runs (30). Durling was a three-time 1st team all-Mac Freedom selection, three-time all-ECAC regional pick, a second team all-American in 2012 and a 2011 Rawlings Gold Glove winner. After his playing career, Durling had a short stint in independent baseball where he played for the San Angelo Colts of the United League located in San Angelo, Texas.
