Chris Franchetti

Chris Franchetti enters his second year as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Keystone College in the 2017-18 season. Franchetti came to Keystone from nearby Lackawanna College in Scranton, a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, where he was an assistant for Coach Kevin Clark from 2014-2016.

In his first year with the Giants, Franchetti helped lead Keystone to a 7-18 record including a 4-14 mark in Colonial States Athletic Conference play in the 2016-17 season.

Franchetti helped the Falcons reach the semifinal of the Region XIX tournament in back-to-back seasons. He coached and developed three separate EPAC Athletes of the Week, two First Team All-Region XIX recipients and one Second Team All-Region XIX recipient. The Falcons concluded their 2015-2016 season with 17 wins. Lackawanna had four student-athletes sign to Division II schools in his two seasons. At Lackawanna, he was responsible for recruiting student-athletes, player development, film breakdown, scouting opponents, tracking in-game statistics, monitoring team study hall and academic progress, and managing the program’s social media accounts.

A graduate of Penn State and Tennessee, he has extensive experience in a variety of different areas of intercollegiate athletics administration, having worked in several capacities at both universities. His experience includes game/event management, marketing and sales, ticket operations, and social media. He was also responsible for organizing and implementing community outreach and career development programs for several varsity teams at UT, including men’s basketball.

For the past two years he has worked as an Elite Camp coach for The Hoop Group, where he coached and mentored high-level high school prospects at a number of camps, as well as being a station leader and teaching the specifics of certain skills to players to help them improve their game. He has also worked at legendary coach Pat Summitt’s basketball camp. In addition, he has held internships at the professional and semi-professional levels of sport with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and the Knoxville Force.

Chris earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Penn State University in 2009, as well as his Master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee in 2012. Locally, he attended nearby Bishop O’Hara High School, where he competed on both the varsity basketball and soccer teams, earning First-Team Lackawanna League All-Star honors for soccer as a junior and Second-Team honors as a senior.  He enjoys traveling, playing basketball, golfing, and spending time with his twin brother Craig and other family and friends. He currently resides in Throop.
