Phil Haas

Phil Haas completed his fifth season as an assistant men's soccer coach in 2017.  Over the past five years, Haas has helped lead Keystone to four Colonial States Athletic Conference playoff appearances highlighted by the team's first-ever CSAC championship game appearance in 2017 as the Giants finished as the CSAC runner-up.

Haas  came to Keystone in 2013 after an outstanding, four-year playing career at Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University), in which he competed against Keystone as a conference rival from 2006-2009.

The Crimson Eagles (now Highlanders) posted 54 wins during Haas’s career and won three-straight NCCAA Division II East Region championships while finishing as the tournament’s runner-up in 2009. PBU also enjoyed NCCAA Division II National Runner-Up finishes in 2006 and 2007 and took home third place in the national tournament the following fall.

Haas appeared in 67 matches over his four years and scored 22 goals and dished out five assists for 49 points. He ranks sixth all-time in school history for career goals, seventh in game-winning goals, and ninth in points. After recording 14 goals and four assists for 32 points during his senior year in 2009, Haas was named the NCCAA Division II East Region Player of the Year, was a NCCAA Division II First Team All-Region selection, and was named an NCCAA Division II Second Team All-American. He also earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors from the Colonial States Athletic Conference and was named PBU’s Team MVP.

In 2010, Haas served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Crimson Eagles, who would go on to reclaim the NCCAA Division II East Region championship. During his coaching stint, he provided instruction to PBU’s student-athletes, helped develop game strategies, and prepared goalkeepers before games.

An active member of PBU’s community, Haas was also a member of the Crimson Eagles’ baseball team from 2008-2010 and was named the team’s Most Improved Player as a senior. He also served as the treasurer of the PBU Health & Physical Education Club from 2008-2009 and was active in the school’s intramural programs as both a participant and a referee.

Haas earned a degree in Biblical Studies in May 2012.
