Myrtle Beach, SC – Keystone College's softball team took to the field for the first time this season on Sunday, but suffered a pair of setbacks to open up their spring break trip in South Carolina. The Giants (0-2) were edged by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 1-0 in Sunday opener before falling to New Paltz in game two, 12-3.
In Sunday's opener against the Engineers (4-1), starting pitcher

RPI scored the only run of the game on a two-out home run by Morgan Ten Eyck in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Engineers closed out the win by retiring the Giants in order in the top of the seventh inning.

The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning before Keystone leveled the game when Schraden singled home
Katie Thompson (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) in the home half of the frame. New Paltz scored the next four runs to hold a 5-1 advantage with four innings in the books before
