Wrestling Drops Trio of Matches at Wilkes Quad

Keystone will return to the mat on February 10 at King’s

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – Keystone College dropped a trio of wrestling matches on Saturday at a quad meet hosted by Wilkes University on Saturday. The Giants fall to 8-13 on the year after suffering setback to Washington & Jefferson College (45-12), Wilkes (55-0), and SUNY Oneonta (53-0).    
 
Match 1 vs. Washington & Jefferson
 
In Saturday's first match against Washington & Jefferson College (8-4), Ryan Celenza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) scored a victory by fall by pinning his opponent 1:31 into the match at 133 pounds to give Keystone a 12-0 lead after the Giants picked up a win by forfeit, but the Presidents won the final eight bouts to claim the 45-12 win.  Washington & Jefferson totaled four falls, three forfeits, and one decision in the match.
 
Match 2 vs. Wilkes
 
In their second competition of the day against the host Colonels (12-4), the Giants were unable to get on the board as Wilkes posted a 55-0 win.  The Colonels used four falls, three forfeits, an injury default, a major decision, and a decision to blank the Giants.
 
Match 3 vs. SUNY Oneonta
 
In Saturday's finale against SUNY Oneonta (9-3-1), the Red Dragons picked up three pins and four forfeits to deal Keystone its third setback of the day.  SUNY Oneonta also picked up two decisions and a technical fall in the win over the Giants.
