Cavaliers Use Three-Goal Second Half to Defeat Giants

Keystone suffers fourth straight setback despite getting nine saves from Shepherd

Radnor, Pa. – Cabrini University scored a trio of second half goals on Saturday afternoon to defeat visiting Keystone College 3-0 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer game.  The Cavaliers improve to 7-1-3 overall and 5-0-2 in conference play while the Giants see their record drop to 4-7-1 this fall and 3-4 in the CSAC.

Neither team was able to find the back in the opening 45 minutes of Saturday's contest with Cabrini holding a 12-3 advantage in shots in the frame.  Keystone goalkeeper Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne) came up with six saves in the stanza to keep the scoreless at the break.

The Cavaliers broke through with the game's first goal 1:43 into the second half as Taylor Tralie beat a pair of defenders and fired a shot inside of the far post.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 52nd minute as Marisa Chirstensen scored on a corner kick with Avery Murphy and Tralie picking up assists on the goal.

Cabrini capped the scoring in the 86th minute when Tralie netted her second goal of the afternoon, taking a long pass from Sam Penecale and betting Shepherd on a breakaway.

The Cavaliers finished with a 26-7 advantage in shots for the game including a 12-3 lead in shots on goal.  The hosts also had a 10-3 edge in corner kicks.

Gabby Legendre made two saves to pick up the win in goal for Cabrini while Shepherd finished with a game-high nine stops for Keystone.

Hannah Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) paced the Giants with three shots for the game.

Keystone will head back to the Greater Philadelphia area next Saturday to take on Immaculata University in a CSAC contest starting at 1:00 p.m. in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.
