Dover, Del. – Wesley College scored the only goal of Saturday afternoon's non-conference field hockey game against Keystone College in the 57
th minute and hung on for a 1-0 victory in a defensive battle in which the two teams combined for just six shots on goal. The Wolverines improve to 1-4 on the season with their first win while the Giants slip to 2-3 on the year after being shutout for the second straight game.
The two teams played a scoreless first half with Wesley holding a 6-2 advantage in shots.

Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) made three saves to keep the hosts off the scoreboard while Wesley netminder Sidney Knott stopped one shot by the Giants to lead the teams into halftime knotted at 0-0.
The Wolverines netted the contest's lone goal with 13:54 remaining in regulation as Rebecca Dvorak beat Hawkins with Kaila Hindt assisting on the tally.
Wesley clamped down defensively after the goal and did not allow the Giants to get another shot on goal the rest of the way.
Knott finished with two saves to pick up the win while Hawkins ended the contest with three stops of the Giants.
For the game, Wesley held an 11-3 advantage in shots in including a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. The hosts also claimed a 12-5 lead in penalty corners.
Kayla Bain (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) attempted two shots to lead the Giants while
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) also was credited with one shot in the loss.
Keystone will return to action on Wednesday afternoon with a non-conference tilt against Wells College starting at 4:00 p.m. on the turf field in La Plume.
