Five Second-Half Goals Propel Men’s Soccer Past Rosemont

ROSEMONT, Pa. - Oct. 17, 2018 - Five second-half goals propelled the Keystone College men's soccer team past host Rosemont College 5-1 on Wednesday evening in CSAC action.

With the league win, Keystone is now 9-3-1 (4-1 CSAC) and remains on the road, traveling to Wilson on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 pm. The Ravens fall to 3-13 (1-4 CSAC).

The Ravens got on the board in just the 10th minute to put the Giants behind 1-0. This score stood through intermission.

The second half was another story, however, as Keystone exploded for five unanswered goals, including a hat trick from junior Daniel Zuniga (Lakeland, Fla./McKeel Academy).

Junior Andrew Lupinacci (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) notched the equalizer in the 49th minute - assisted from freshman Josen Mana (Allentown, Pa./William Allen). In the 76th minute, league-leading goal scorer Zuniga - the reigning CSAC Offensive Player of the Week - netted his first goal of the night off an assist from junior Ibrahim Tounkara (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area), to put the Giants ahead 2-1.

In the 78th minute, Zuniga drove home a pass from sophomore James Johnson (Burtonsville, Md./James Hubert Blake) to give Keystone a 3-1 advantage. Only 18 seconds later, Zuniga scored his third marker and 11th of the year off a feed from Tounkara, to hand Keystone a commanding 4-1 advantage. In the waning minutes of the contest, junior Michael Nyarko (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) capped off the scoring for the Giants, thanks to an assist from Zuniga.

Overall, Keystone outshot Rosemont 21-7, with 14 shots on frame, and attempted nine corners.

Freshman keeper Erick Gomez (Marrero, La./John Ehret) earned the win, making two saves on the night.
