La PLUME, Pa.--The Keystone College women's lacrosse team didn't have an answer for Neumann University junior midfielder Kaitlyn Conrad in Colonial States Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon.
Conrad scored nine goals and assisted on three others to lead the Knights to their fourth straight win. Neumann, now 6-4 overall and 3-0 in the CSAC, also received three goals from junior midfielder Brittany Cassidy and two apiece from sophomore midfielder Courtney Petrucelli and freshman defender Keri Mallon.
Keystone, which fell to to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in conference play, was led by seniors
Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) and
Nina Hodanich (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) with two goals apiece and junior
Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) and sophomores
April Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) and
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) contributed one apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper
Daphne Leenas (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) finished with a game-high 16 saves for the Giants, who will return to action Friday, March 30, at home against Lancaster Bible beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Neumann held significant advantages in nearly every statistical category, out-shooting the Giants, 40-19, winning 20 of the 28 draw controls, and holding a 23-17 advantage in ground balls.
