Robinson ties Keystone single-game record in leading Giants past Notre Dame (Md.) in CSAC action Saturday afternoon

Keystone wins fourth straight to move one game over .500 for the season

La PLUME, Pa.—It turned out to be a historic day for sophomore midfielder Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Field and Track Complex.

Robinson scored nine goals to tie Keystone College's single-game record in leading the Giants to a 22-17 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University in Colonial States Athletic Conference -(CSAC) action.

Keystone, which won its fourth straight game to improve to 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the CSAC, also received five goals and four assists from senior midfielder Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) and five goals from senior midfielder Nina Hodanich (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton).

Junior midfielder Megan Morales led the Gators, now 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the CSAC, with seven goals, including her 50th of the season, and junior midfielder Kristin McGee finished with four goals and two assists.

Robinson scored twice in the opening three minutes as the Giants jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before Morales got the Gators untracked and scored six times during a 21-minute span that tied the score at 10 with less than four minutes remaining before intermission.  Robinson, junior attacker Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin), and Hodanich each added a goal for Keystone in the final 1:43 as Keystone regained the lead for good, 13-10, by halftime.

Notre Dame did manage to cut Keystone's lead to two, 15-13, on a goal by McGee that was set up by sophomore Lauren Pardoe, but the Giants answered with a 5-1 run to regain the momentum.  For the game, Keystone held a 57-23 advantage in shot, a 23-13 margin in ground balls, and pressured the Gators into 24 turnovers.

Robinson joins Hawkins as the only players in Keystone history to score nine goals in a game.  Hawkins did it against Rosemont on April 11, 2017, and against Centenary on April 19, 2016.

The Giants will return to CSAC action this Tuesday, April 17, against Marywood University at Pacer Field in Scranton beginning at 7:00 p.m.
