Senior midfielder
Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) made history at Keystone College tonight, becoming the first player in Giants' history to record 200 points.
Â
But her effort wasn't enough to slow down backyard Colonial States Athletic Conference foe Marywood University, which got out of the gates quickly in each half en route to a 19-9 victory. The loss snapped a program-record four-game winning streak for Keystone, which fell to 5-5 overall and 3-4 in the CSAC, while the Pacers improved to 9-5 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play with a 7-0 mark.
Â
Hawkins, who finished with a goal and six assists to bring her career total to 203 points, recorded the historic point with 1:01 remaining in the first half with an assist on sophomore midfielder
Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin)'s goal.Â
Â
Marywood scored nine straight goals to open the game before the Giants picked up some momentum by outscoring the Pacers, 5-1, to cut the margin to 10-5 by intermission. Marywood then broke it open by scoring the first seven goals of the second half.
Â
Senior attacker Sam Bussinelli led the Pacers with four goals and sophomore midfielder Gina Babcock and senior attacker Erin Healy chipped in three apiece. Marywood, which held a 40-18 advantage in shots and won 17 of the 26 draw controls, also received two goals apiece from sophomore midfielder Gwyneth Gleason, sophomore defender Molly Yelencsics and senior midfielder Caitlin Watson.
Â
Senior midfielder
Nina Hodanich (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) paced the Giants with four goals and Robinson contributed two goals and an assists. Keystone, which will host Gwynedd Mercy University in CSAC action in its regular-season finale this Saturday at the Athletic Field and Turf Complex in La Plume beginning at 1:00 p.m., also received a goal apiece from junior attacker
Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) and sophomore defender
Megan Novak (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin).
Â
Sophomore goalkeeper
Daphne Leenas (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) finished with 13 saves and four ground balls for Keystone, while sophomore Mary Leahy stopped six shots for the Pacers.
Â
Prior to Saturday's game against Gwynedd Mercy, Hawkins and Hodanich will be honored as part of Senior Day and Autism Awareness festivities.Â
