Women’s Lacrosse Earns 4-3 CSAC Win at Bryn Athyn

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Despite trailing 3-1 in the first half, the Keystone College women's lacrosse team battled back to earn a 4-3 road CSAC win at Bryn Athyn College on Wednesday evening.

With the victory, the Giants improve to 3-3 (2-0 CSAC) and will head to Centenary (N.J.) on Saturday, March 30 at 3 p.m. The Lions move to 2-2 (1-1 CSAC).

Bryn Athyn jumped out to a 2-0 lead before senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) cut that deficit in half with a goal at 7:53 in the first.

Following another Lion goal, the Giants enjoyed goals from junior April Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) - assisted by sophomore Jackie Martin (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) - and senior Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) with just 26 seconds left in the opening period to knot the game up at 3-3 right before halftime.

With 11:13 to play in regulation, junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) took advantage of a man-up opportunity and scored an unassisted goal to give the Giants the lead and the key conference win.

Overall, Bryn Athyn outshot the Giants 25-10 as senior Kayla Bain (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) led the offense with three shots. Juniors April and Amy Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) both tallied two shots each and combined for five gorund balls and seven caused turnovers.

Junior Daphne Leenas (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) earned the win, making 12 stops against the Lions.
