Leenas Records 400th Career Save in 8-7 Win at Notre Dame (Md.)

BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior Daphne Leenas (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) notched her 400th career save as the Keystone College women's lacrosse team earned an 8-7 road CSAC win at Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday.

With the win, Keystone is now 10-3 (9-0 CSAC) and has won nine straight games. The Giants will return home to host Bryn Athyn on Wednesday, April 24 at 3 p.m. The Gators fall to 8-5 (6-3 CSAC).

Keystone has clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CSAC Tournament, with only one more league game to play. The semifinals are on May 1 with the finals on May 4.

Leenas finished with a game-high 14 saves in the key league victory.

Offensively, seniors Kayla Bain (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) and Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) both tallied three goals each while junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) added two goals and one assist.

Robinson led the Giants with 11 shots (8 on goal) while providing three ground balls. Robinson went 2-for-5 on free-position attempts.

Junior Amy Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) picked up five ground balls while senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) and junior Megan Novak (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) provided four ground balls each. Bain won a team-high three draw controls.

Keystone led 5-2 at halftime, thanks to first-half goals by Robinson, Bain and Smith. The Gators outscored the Giants 5-3 in the second half.
