CSAC ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S TENNIS END OF YEAR AWARDS

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2019 Women's Tennis End of Year Awards on Thursday afternoon. The awards including All-CSAC (First-Team, Second-Team and Honorable Mention), Player and Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and All-Sportsmanship.

The teams were voted on by the coaches in the conference, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Keystone College senior Devinne Scott (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) was named as the 2019 Player of the Year. She is the first player from Keystone to win the honor in women's tennis. As a senior, she set the all-time mark for wins in a career in Keystone history. This year, in addition to being a first-team selection, she went 5-1 at first flight in singles in CSAC play and was 5-3 overall. In doubles, she was 3-3 in CSAC play with teammate Mia Capalongo (Taylor, Pa./Riverside).

Cairn University freshman Allyssa Peters (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) was named as the 2019 CSAC Rookie of the Year. She is the first Cairn player to win the Rookie of the Year award since Rebecca Graber back in 2014 . This season, she went 5-5 at number one flight singles and was 4-2 in CSAC play.

Cairn University coach Kevin Jackson was named as the 2019 CSAC Coach of the Year. In his first season, he led the Highlanders to a 7-4 record and a 5-1 mark in the CSAC, earning the top seed in the playoffs. He is the first Cairn coach to win the honor in women's tennis.

Finally, Notre Dame of Maryland University earned the 3-D Award. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is the first time the Gators have won this award.
