Keystone Wrestling Goes 1-1 in Saturday Tri Match

The Giants enjoyed a 54-0 win over Thaddeus Stevens.

La PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College wrestling program went 1-1 in Saturday's home tri-match, hosting SUNY Oneonta and Thaddeus Stevens in Gambal Athletic Center.

The Giants enjoyed a 54-0 win over the Bulldogs and dropped a 44-6 decision to the Red Dragons.

Against Thad Stevens, sophomore Noah Atkins (Meshoppen, Pa./Elk Lake), freshmen Elijah Morder (Juniata Valley, Pa./Juniata Valley) and Caleb Burkhart (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) all enjoyed wins by fall. Atkins won at 157 over Saadiq Pabon-Williams (5:30), while Morder defeated Luke Billig at 165 (:56). Burkhart pinned Harrison Schoen in 57 seconds at 285.

Versus Oneonta, junior Jonathan Grimm (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro) tallied a 4-0 win by decision at 174 over Joel Zea. Sophomore Jeremy McGuigan (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) earned a 4-0 decision win against Jacob Pine at 285.

In six exhibition bouts, freshman Robert Quinn (Palo Alto, Pa./Pottsville Area) and Burkhart notched victories by fall. Quinn pinned Sam Berger in 1:21 while Burkhart pinned Diego Orellana in 1:23.

Keystone will prepare for the Penn College Quad on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m., going up against the host Wildcats, Centenary University and Pitt Bradford.
