OSWEGO, N.Y. - Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) poured in a game-high 33 points for the Keystone College women's basketball team but the Giants fell at SUNY Oswego 86-84 in overtime on Friday night in the second game of the Max Ziel Tournament.
Berry's 33 points is tied for tenth most in single-game program history, as Bella Lamonea netted 33 back on Jan. 29, 2020 against Clarks Summit. Berry shot 7-of-16 from deep, with her seven threes tied for fourth most in single-game program history.
Berry finished 12-of-26 and added five boards, three steals and two assists.
The contest was tied after the first quarter (18-18) and at halftime (35-35). The Lakers outscored Keystone in the third but the Giants rallied in the fourth. In the extra session, Diamond Pickett netted a layup with one second left to hand Oswego the victory.
Kwashanti Holmes (Yonkers, N.Y./Woodlands) and Kyleigh Monk (Havre de Grace, Md./John Carroll School) finished with 15 points each and combined for 10 rebounds. Renata Alberici (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) scored 14 points while Allyson Frank (Rio Rancho, N.M./V. Sue Cleveland) and Megan Weber (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) combined for seven points.
Four Lakers finished in double digits as Karleigh Leo led Oswego with 23 points. On the night, Oswego outrebounded Keystone 79-44, with a 31-12 edge on the offensive glass.
Keystone (0-2) will face SUNY Morrisville in the consolation game tomorrow at 2 p.m. The Mustangs fell to SUNY Poly 63-55 earlier on Friday. The Wildcats will face the Lakers in the championship at 4 p.m.
