SCRANTON, Pa. - The Keystone College wrestling program competed in the University of Scranton Quad on Saturday at the John Long Center to conclude the 2021-22 regular season.
The Giants went 1-2 on the day, earning a 36-19 win over Bergen County Community College. Keystone fell to King's 36-9 and the host Royals, 42-12.
Keystone will now train for the NCAA Mideast Regionals hosted by Elizabethtown College on Feb. 26-27.
Keystone 36, Bergen CC 19
Kenny Santiago (Middletown, NY/Middletown) defeated Ryu Katayama by fall (1:38) at 125 pounds while Derek Torres (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) earned a victory by fall over Jineer Contreras at 133 pounds (2:35).
Jonathan Grimm (Keedysville, Md./Boonsboro), Elijah Morder (Juniata Valley, Pa./Juniata Valley), Brandon Crusen (Scranton, Pa./Scranton), and Brendan Hamilton (Lennhartsville, Pa./Hamburg Area) all won by forfeit.
King's 36, Keystone 9
At 165, Morder defeated Jackson Marcantanio by decision (14-10) while Jeremy McGuigan (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) enjoyed a win by fall over David White (2:37) at 285.
Scranton 42, Keystone 12
Dalten Klinges (Nicholson, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) tallied a fall victory against Ethan Wilson (1:40) at 149 while Caleb Burkhart (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) enjoyed another win by fall against Jose Falcon at 285 (2:14).
