La PLUME, Pa. – Keystone women's lacrosse team was shut out by visiting Eastern University, 19-0, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at the Turf Field Athletics Complex.
It was even through the first five minutes of the match as Keystone won the opening draw control and took it down for a shot on goal followed by back-to-back takeaways to get possession back, but Eastern settled in as Caitlin Quizon was able to dump one past goalkeeper Hannah Ozbar at the 10:46 mark for the first of the Eagles' 19 scores.
The Giants had just seven shots on the afternoon (five on goal) being outdone by the Eagles' 31 attempts (25 on goal).
Emerson Shauger, Hailey Ferry and Molly Dowling each led Eastern with four goals apiece followed by a pair of scores from Teresa Gailey, Ceclia Wilson and Quizon. Ferry, Gailey and Quizon each also tallied up three assists.
Krista Strausser (Danville, Pa./Danville) took four shots (three on goal) and came up with five draw-control wins, one ground ball and two caused turnovers.
The Giants dropped to 0-4 on the season while it was the first win for Eastern, improving to 1-5 overall.
What's Next
Keystone will be back at home Saturday, March 26 for a 1 p.m. matchup against Mount Aloysius (1-4 overall).
Eastern will play at Rowan University on Saturday.
