Giants Fall at Centenary 15-5

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Keystone College men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-5 non-conference decision at Centenary University on Saturday afternoon.

With the defeat, the Giants fall to 0-2 and will host Marywood University (6-3) on Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. The Cyclones improve to 1-2 and will host Cabrini University (6-2) on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Keystone trailed 4-1 after the first quarter and 6-1 at intermission. The Giants enjoyed four second-half scores.

Noel Gonzalez (Westminster, Colo./Westminster) led the offensive attack with two goals and an assist, chipping in with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Matthew Bardoo (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore), Izaiah Simon (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area), and A.J. Hackenberg (Greenfield Twp., Pa./Lakeland) tallied scores, with Hackenberg and Tyler McManus (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) dishing out assists.

Simon won seven faceoffs and provided eight ground balls. Gabe Reyes (Rockville, Md./Rockville) notched seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. In the cage, Michael McGovern (Newton, N.J./Newton) made 14 stops.

For the Cyclones, Brandon Verderber notched five goals and an assist while Jason Toledo enjoyed three goals and three helpers.
