Women's Lax Falls at Marywood

The Giants dropped the local road contest, 22-4.

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Keystone College women's lacrosse team fell at Marywood University 22-4 in non-conference action on a rainy Tuesday evening at Pacers Field.

With the defeat, the Giants fall to 2-10 overall (2-3 CSAC) and will return home to host Bryn Athyn College (7-2, 4-0 CSAC) on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The program will honor Samantha Hamlin (Binghamton, N.Y./Johnson City Central) and Krista Strausser (Danville, Pa./Danville) in a pre-game ceremony. The Pacers end the season at 5-8 (1-4 Atlantic East).

Strausser ended the contest with two goals on seven shots, tallying eight draw control wins. The senior has a team-high 45 goals this season, ranking third-most in the CSAC. She tied the game at 1-1 and tacked on another in the first period.

Meaghan Drennan (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) and Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) both enjoyed goals, as Mascia provided one assist, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers. 

Amilee Miller (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Area) notched two ground balls and two caused turnovers on the defensive end for Keystone. Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) suffered the loss, making six stops in the cage.

For Marywood, six Pacers tallied two or more goals, as Kayla McCabe netted seven scores and three assists. Alaina Brenneman and Emma Solomon combined for seven goals while Olivia Stollsteimer, Tori Wilson, and Lauren Matarazzo finished with two markers.

The win by Marywood extends their winning streak to six against Keystone, dating back to March 28, 2015.
