AURORA, N.Y. – Six different players tallied goals for the Keystone College field hockey team as the Giants enjoyed an 11-0 blanking at Wells College on Saturday afternoon.
With the convincing win, the Giants improve to 3-3 and will return home to host King's (1-4) on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. The Express fall to 0-3 and travel to Cedar Crest (1-4) on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Keystone scored twice in the first and exploded for six scores in the second to take a commanding 8-0 halftime lead. The Giants tacked on three more scores in the third quarter and outshot Wells 39-1 on the day. Keystone's 11 goals is tied for second most in single-game program history.
Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College) enjoyed a hat trick off the bench and provided an assist on the day. Makayla Batts (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) tallied two goals and one assist while Sierra Fernandez (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) and Maria Belen Rodriguez-Molina (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa Brígida) each scored two goals.
Julianna Santiago (Allentown, Pa./Louis E. Dieruff) notched a goal and an assist while Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina/San Vicente de Paul) registered one goal and two helpers on the afternoon. Rodriguez-Molina tallied 10 shots while Santiago contributed eight.
Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) and Lillian Kennedy-Butler (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) combined for the shutout, with Kennedy-Butler making one stop.
