Women’s Basketball Opens 2023 Season with 74-56 Win over Penn State Hazleton

LA PLUME, Pa. – The Keystone College women's basketball team opened the season at home with a 74-56 win over Penn State Hazleton. This victory chalks up win number one at Keystone for new head coach, Jason Rhine '12.

Riley Berry (Margate, Fla./Piper) led the team's scoring efforts putting up 18 points followed by Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) with 16 and Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) with 14. Defensively, Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) and Bry Hicks (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) each came up with 6 defensive rebounds and 5 steals.

For Penn State, Bry'Yasia Costen led the team offensively putting up 13 points in the game, while also helping out defensively, accounting for 4 of the team's defensive rebounds and 4 steals.

On Friday, November 17, Keystone women's basketball will be heading to Springfield Massachusetts to participate at the Western New England Tournament. They are slotted to play Western New England University at 6:00 PM on Friday (11/17) and either Vassar or Salve Regina the following day.
