BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Freshman Javen Flowers-Smith (Atlanta, Ga./Pembroke Pines Charter) exploded for a career and game-high 46 points as the Keystone College men's basketball team enjoyed an 86-75 road win at Bryn Athyn College on Saturday.
Flowers-Smith shot 17-of-28 from the field, going 8-of-14 from long distance and 4-of-7 from the foul line. The freshman provided five assists, two steals, and two boards on the day.
The 46 points are the second-highest scoring output for any CSAC player this season, joining teammate Jack Anderson (Davie, Fla./Western), who tallied 49 points against Marywood, back on Nov. 29, 2022.
Anderson followed with 19 points, seven assists, six rebounds, four steals, and two blocks. The sophomore is now 115 points shy of 1,000 in his career.
Pete Laidley (Miramar, Fla./Pembroke Pines Charter) and Daivel Jackson (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) combined for 15 points and 17 rebounds, with Jackson pulling down 11 boards. Shane Rosencrans (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley) and Albert Pewa (Philadelphia, Pa./Interboro) combined to dish out six helpers.
For Bryn Athyn, Jamal Cannady Jr. notched 22 points and 12 rebounds while Jaryn McCann and Isaiah Cureton combined for 28 points.
Keystone enjoyed a 45-33 lead at the break, shooting 50 percent from both the field and from three in the first half. The Giants shot 57 percent from the field in the second half and limited the Lions to 28.6 percent shooting from three for the game.
The Giants (11-12, 7-5 CSAC) will return home to host Clarks Summit University on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. Bryn Athyn (11-12, 5-7 CSAC) heads to Wilson on the same night.
