Women’s Lacrosse Shuts Out Centenary Behind Kennedy-Butler’s Six Goals

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's lacrosse team earned their first win of the season in dominating fashion as they defeated Centenary University 10-0 Friday evening.

Keystone improves to 1-4, and Centenary falls to 0-4.

This victory is the first win for interim head coach Savanna Robinson.

Lillian Kennedy-Butler (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) scored a career and game-high six goals and tallied nine ground balls.

Meaghan Drennan (Drums, Pa./Hazleton Area) recorded a hat trick while Makayla Batts (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford) chipped in with a goal of her own.

Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, Pa./Pocono Mountain West) had a game-high two assists in the contest.  Batts, Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Patrick's College), and Hailey Dunham (Southgate, Mich./Inter-City Baptist) all finished with one.

Defensively, Dunham was a force as she caused seven turnovers in the win. Mascia and Dunham combined for 18 ground balls this evening.

Keystone equated 31 shots in the nonconference game. They had a 40-15 advantage on ground balls. The Giants were 7-for-9 on clear attempts.

Keystone will host Anne Arundel Community College in an exhibition game tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Centenary will travel to Allentown, Pa. to face Cedar Crest College on Mar. 29 at 6 p.m.
