LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College Department of Athletics elevated Colin Franko '20 to the position of Sports Information Director, announced on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

"I am excited and honored to be the Sports Information Director for my alma mater, Keystone College," Franko stated. "I would like to thank Keystone Director of Athletics, Scott Gower, for the opportunity. I am looking forward to continuing to cover and promote our amazing student athletes and teams at Keystone."

Franko is no stranger to Keystone College Athletics. He previously held the role of Assistant Sports Information Director. Before he was the Assistant SID, Franko returned to his alma mater to serve as a Sports Information Intern during the 2021 fall semester.

As a student, he worked as a social media intern for the baseball team from 2019-2020 and was the Director of Social Media & Marketing for the men's soccer team in 2019. While working in these two roles, Franko conducted postgame interviews, recorded game highlights, took photos during games, made team graphics, and created a recruitment video.

Franko was a three-year member of the men's tennis team at Keystone where he was named All-CSAC Singles First Team in 2019 along with CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team honors in 2017.

Franko replaces Ryan Novitsky, who held the role of Sports Information Director since 2018, as he transitions to a new role on campus as an instructor in the Sport & Recreation Management Department.

"Learning from Ryan over the past couple of years has been instrumental to my career. I cannot thank him enough for all he has taught me. He has been a great mentor, and I wish him nothing but the best in his new position," Franko said.

A native of Tunkhannock, Pa., Franko graduated from Keystone College in May 2020 with his bachelor's degree in communications with a concentration in journalism. He later went on to earn his master's degree in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from Messiah University in May 2022.
