WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Keystone College football dropped their final road game of the season to Catholic University of America 42-24 Saturday afternoon.
Keystone falls to 1-8 (0-5 Landmark). Catholic improves to 4-4 (2-2 Landmark).
Donald Leach III (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) threw for 306 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown in this afternoon's contest. Jayson Nami (Freehold Township, N.J./Freehold Township) recorded six catches for 100 yards and one score. Chanz Stevens (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) and Da'Jaun Vales (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) combined for 139 receiving yards. Reese Karp (Pen Argyl, Pa./Pen Argyl) contributed with a 15-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter.
Nicholas DeFrancesco (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) posted a game high of 13 total tackles while CJ Riccobono (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) had nine and Devin Montgomery (Waldorf, Md./Potomac) with eight. Keith Johnson (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and Diante Washington (Upper Marlboro, Md./Potomac) each had 1.5 sacks. Shakur Carter (Collingswood, N.J./Collingswood) recorded an interception.
Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) punted four times for 141 yards. The junior averaged 35.2 yards a punt and three of punts landed inside the opponents 20-yard line. He also made a 32-yard field goal in the loss and was a perfect 3-for-3 on extra points.
For Catholic, Daequan Harvin had a big day on the ground as he rushed for 242 yards with two scores. Quarterback Joey Gulbin completed 13 passes for 147 yards with two touchdowns and one pick. Malachi Hanson and Andrew Tabor each recorded a receiving touchdown.
Mason Stillwell and Tyler Donelly led the Cardinals defense with six tackles and an interception. Sean Finan recovered a fumble with Samuel Dumas forcing it.
The Giants conclude the 2024 season next Saturday, Nov. 9 at home against Juniata College at 12 p.m.
