Baseball to Face Middlebury in First Game of NCAA Regionals

DALLAS, Pa.- The Keystone College baseball team will go up against Middlebury College in the NCAA Regionals hosted by Misericordia University which begins on Friday, May 17 and will run until Sunday, May 19.

The Giants captured the United East Conference Championship on Saturday as they defeated No. 11/12 Penn State Harrisburg 5-4 and 8-3 to clinch their 19th consecutive conference crown. Chase Boyle (Millsboro, Del./Sussex Central) earned United East Conference Tournament MVP honors.

Middlebury College earned an automatic qualifier out of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). The Panthers knocked off Tufts University 9-2 to claim their third NESCAC title. Middlebury dropped their first game of the conference final to the Jumbos, but were to able to win the second game to capture the conference tournament.

Misericordia University will host a regional for the second consecutive season. The Cougars won the MAC Freedom Championship over Arcadia, 2-1. Connor Maryniak was named Tournament MVP as he tossed a complete game and contributed with Misericordia's two runs in the final game of the championship series.

St. John Fisher is the final team in this bracket. They won their fourth straight Empire 8 Conference Title against Utica University, 13-4. The Cardinals used a five-run fifth inning to catapult them to another conference championship.
