LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College football team will gear up for their home opener this weekend as they faceoff with Hartwick College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m.
The Giants lost to the Hawks last season by a final score of 31-21.

The Keystone College Giants (0-1) suffered a 24-14 defeat to Misericordia University last week in their season opener.
Donald Leach III (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) went 18-for-32 with 141 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions with Mujaheed Muhammad (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) and Da'Juan Vales being on the receiving end of those touchdowns. Muhammad rushed for 62 yards and averaged close to three yards a carry.
Defensively, Keith Johnson (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) provided 13 total tackles (five solo, eight assists) with one of them going for a loss. Zach Hoover (Elmhurst Township, Pa./North Pocono) recorded 10 tackles and one pass break up. CJ Riccobono (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) and Nicholas DeFrancesco (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) combined for 17 tackles.
On the special teams' side, Jeremiah Ortiz (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) added two punts for 62 yards. He averaged 31 yards a punt. Ortiz went 2-for-2 on extra point attempts.
Hartwick
The Hartwick College Hawks (1-0) kicked off their season with a bang as they defeated Maine Maritime Academy 62-6. The Hawks were up 7-6 at the end of the first quarter and went on to score 55 unanswered points the rest of the way.
Quarterback James Sobol threw for 199 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions. Carlvin McDonald rushed for 102 yards with two scores. Carlito Aldamuy had 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
The Hawks defense had a day as they recorded five interceptions. Michael Vurchio had two interceptions with one of them being a 39-yard pick-six. Owen Lawler also had a pick-six which went for 78 yards. Linebacker Ben Kirkland posted a team high 10 tackles and a sack.
What's Next
Keystone will be back on the road as they head to St. John Fisher University to battle the Cardinals on Saturday, Sept. 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
