La Plume, Pa. – Keystone College announced today the addition of women's wrestling as its newest intercollegiate athletics program. The program will officially launch in Fall 2026, marking another significant step in the college's efforts to expand athletic opportunities and strengthen its competitive presence in NCAA Division III athletics.

Women's wrestling is one of the fastest-growing collegiate sports in the nation. In January 2025, the NCAA officially approved women's wrestling as its 91st championship sport, with the first national championship to be held in 2026. Earlier this year, Ragean Hill, Chair of the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics, noted, "The NCAA's approval of women's wrestling as its 91st championship is a groundbreaking achievement that reflects the continued rise and strength of women's sports." She added, "The success of this effort is a testament to the incredible collaboration between the wrestling community, institutional leaders, and advocates who share a vision of expanding pathways for women to compete and excel."

"Adding women's wrestling is another example of how Keystone is continuing to grow and create meaningful opportunities for student-athletes," said Kacy Manning, Director of Athletics. "I've seen how wrestling empowers young women, and we are proud to create a space at Keystone where they can lead, compete, and belong." Keystone will become one of a select group of colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, and just the third in Northeastern PA, to offer women's wrestling at the Division III level.

Drew Feldman, current Head Men's Wrestling Coach, will also serve as the head coach of the women's wrestling program. "Women's wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and I'm extremely excited to bring it to Keystone College," Feldman said. "The recruiting process is underway and we are looking forward to bringing in the first cohort of young women who will lay the foundation for Keystone College Women's Wrestling." The inaugural team will compete starting in Fall 2026 and will train in the college's on-campus wrestling facility.

Keystone College is a member of the NCAA Division III United East Conference. The addition of women's wrestling complements recent investments in Keystone Athletics including increased staffing, expanded sport offerings such as women's flag football earlier this year, and facility upgrades aimed at supporting student-athletes and enhancing competitive success.
