LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College women's soccer team fell at home to Penn State Brandywine 10-0 Tuesday evening in United East Conference action.
The visitors set the tone early, with Emma Kearns opening the scoring just past the three-minute mark on an assist from Hope Priemon. She struck again in the 9th minute to double the lead.
Momentum stayed entirely with the Nittany Lions as Addisyn Fluckey added a goal in the 18th, and Kearns notched her third of the half moments later. Kearns scored a fourth before the end of the opening stanza, and Peyton Lill made it 6–0 before the half's close.
The Giants struggled to gain a foothold in the second half. Just two minutes into the period, Hope Priemon extended the team's cushion. Kearns added an eighth, and Addy Stanton chipped in twice more, sandwiching a goal in the 51:54 mark and another in the 69th minute. Stanton's final tally came in the 69:25 mark off an assist from Priemon.
In total, the Nittany Lions outshot the Giants 36-4 (with 20 on target) and claimed nine corner kicks to Keystone's two.
Brandywine's keeper, Jasmin Alvarez, faced just one shot and made one save to preserve the shutout. Meanwhile, Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) was busy all evening in goal, recording 10 saves.
Statistically, Kearns finished with five shots, four goals, and one assist. Stanton chipped in with six shots, two goals, and two assists. For Keystone, Victory Frantz (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) led with three shots and had the lone shot on target.
Keystone (0-9-1, 0-4-0Â United East) remain home to take on Cedar Crest College on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. for their homecoming game.
