Men’s Basketball Falls at Home to Nazareth

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team put together one of its strongest offensive performances of the season Tuesday night, but an explosive first half by Nazareth proved too much to overcome as the Golden Flyers defeated the Giants, 83–74.

Nazareth (6-2) opened the game with crisp ball movement and hot shooting, building a 53–38 halftime advantage behind a balanced attack. The visitors shot better than 64 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

Keystone responded after the break with improved energy on both ends, outscoring Nazareth 36–30 in the second half. The Giants leaned heavily on their perimeter shooting, knocking down 12 three-pointers, including a perfect 4-for-4 effort from Tyler Ditton (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley).

Jden Golding (Jacksonville, Fla./Clay) led Keystone with 17 points and six assists, while Ditton matched him with 17 points off the bench in just 22 minutes. Josh Brown (Phillipsburg, N.J./Bethlehem Catholic) and PJ Murphy (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) chipped in 12, while Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech) recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.

Nazareth, however, had answers each time Keystone threatened to close the gap. Luke Insley finished with a team-high 20 points on an ultra-efficient 9-of-10 shooting. Jaylen Savage followed with 19 points and six assists.

Merritt Holly controlled the interior with 13 points and eight rebounds as the Golden Flyers shot nearly 59 percent for the game and held a 40–24 advantage in points in the paint.

Keystone (2-9) takes on Saint Elizabeth University Thursday evening at 6 p.m.
