LANGHORNE, Pa.- The Keystone College men's basketball team opened United East Conference play with a 94-75 defeat to Cairn University on Wednesday night at the Mason Activity Center.
In his season debut, Kamdyn Ayers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) paced the Giants with 18 points and five assists, while Jden Golding (Jacksonville, Fla./Clay) contributed 13. Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech) had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. PJ Murphy (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) and Josh Brown (Phillipsburg, N.J./Bethlehem Catholic) combined for 21 points and eight boards.
Three Highlanders scored in double figures. Corey Baldwin led the way with 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Jaylon Simpson added 23 and Ron Ayers chipped in 20.
Despite efficient scoring, the Giants found themselves buried early as Cairn opened the game with a barrage of perimeter shooting.
The Highlanders hit nine threes in the first half alone and built a 52–33 advantage at the break. Keystone matched Cairn point-for-point in the second half, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
The Giants shot 53.6 percent (30-of-56) from the field and grabbed 27 rebounds.
