READING, Pa.- The Keystone College softball team were unable to find the score column as they were blanked by Penn State Berks 8-0 and 4-0 Wednesday afternoon.
Game One: Keystone 0, Penn State Berks 8 (5 inn.)
The Giants staggered two hits in the opening game as Kiara Taylor (Berlin, Md./Decatur) and Mara Brooks (Manassas, Va./Brentsville) provided the lone base knocks. Courtney Cienki (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) suffered the loss in the circle as she tossed 4.2 innings with a strikeout. She allowed four earned runs and walked five.
A five-run third inning helped the Nittany Lions to a game one victory. They added three more in the fifth for the mercy-run rule win.
Game Two: Keystone 0, Penn State Berks 4
Multiple Giants tallied a hit in the second game but were unable to bring home any runs. Emily Schultz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) got the game two start and tossed a complete game with a punchout. The junior struck out one and gave up two earned runs.
Berks added three runs in the first inning off a throwing error and a two-run home run. They scored again an inning later via a SAC fly.
