2/11/2026 12:04:00 PM

LATHAM, N.Y.- The Keystone College baseball team was picked to tie for first in the United East Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

The Giants share the top spot with Penn State Harrisburg. Keystone earned seven first-place votes in the poll, while the Nittany Lions received six.

Penn State Abington was selected third, followed by Penn College in fourth. St. Mary's College of Maryland rounds out the top five.

Lancaster Bible, Wilson, Cairn, and Penn State Brandywine were slotted sixth through ninth, respectively. Penn State Berks, Notre Dame of Maryland, Valley Forge, and Rosemont complete the preseason rankings.

The championship participants shall consist of the ten (10) highest seeds based on regular season records.  Each First Round game will be an elimination contest with the winner advancing.  A best-of-3 series will then take place with the higher seed hosting on each matchup.

The four victors of the best-of-3 round will advance to a four-team double elimination tournament that will begin on Friday, May 9 to determine the United East Champion.

The Giants captured its 20th consecutive conference championship (second United East title) a year ago and earned another NCAA Tournament appearance. Keystone returns three all-conference performers from last season in Anthony Mierez (Granby, Conn./Rockville), Carlos Pascual (Paterson, N.J./International), and Leam Powell (Phillipsport, N.Y./Chapel Field Christian).

Keystone opens the 2026 season on Tuesday, Feb. 24, facing Hanover College at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
