Bibbins Snags Flag Football Defensive Player of the Week

LATHAM, NEW YORK- The United East Conference has announced that Tayana Bibbins (Lincoln, Del./Sussex Technical) has been named the women's flag football defensive player of the week. After an outstanding week that saw Bibbins lead the Giants in defensive plays, she tallies her first Player of the Week award.

Bibbins tallied one tackle, one interception, and one pass break up in the dominating win over Penn State Schuylkill to start her week. She continued to showcase her defensive prowess against Montclair State University, tallying up a game high five tackles, resulting in one tackle for a loss. She added a pass break up to her stat line late in the contest.

The defensive superstar continued to lead the Giants on the defensive end of the ball against Cedar Crest College, racking up four tackles, one for a loss. Bibbins showcased her skills in the coverage unit in the contest as well, intercepting two passes, and nearly grabbing a third that ultimately resulted in a pass break up.

Rounding out her season against Gallaudet University, Bibbins tallied one tackle and one pass break up. Despite the Giants wrapping up their season, many bright spots such as Tayana Bibbins (Lincoln, Del./Sussex Technical) was showcased throughout the year, putting the United East Conference on notice for next season when the Giants come back better than ever.
