LA PLUME, PA- Keystone College and Director of Athletics Kacy Manning have recently announced that Rose Bare (Bronx, N.Y./Taft) will be promoted to the position of Head Flag Football Coach beginning in the 2026-27 school year.
Bare, a former two-sport student-athlete, will take the helm of the second-year flag football team later this year. Bare competed for the Giants as a standout basketball player from 2023-25, appearing in 37 games. She began her collegiate career at SUNY Sullivan before transferring to Keystone.
"Taking on this position means a lot to me. As an alumna of the program when it was just a club sports team, being back here and taking over something fairly new with the chance to turn it into something great is what motivates me the most," stated Rosselys Bare. Bare continued, "Last year as the graduate assistant, I used to tell my players before every game to 'Go Be Great.' Now, it is my turn to do that alongside the athletes that I have had the opportunity to coach. It is a very exciting opportunity to coach this team, one that I am very grateful for."
Bare joined the women's flag football team during the inaugural 2025 club season, where she played wide receiver and defensive back. Bare became an assistant graduate coach for the 2026 season, where she helped lead the Giants to a 4-9 record in their first varsity season. Bare will now continue her duties on the sideline as the head coach of the flag football team, as well as assisting with women's basketball operations.
"One of the things I love most about Rose is that she shows what it truly means to be a Giant. As a student-athlete, she was always willing to step up, learn, and make the most out of every opportunity," stated Director of Athletics Kacy Manning. "She's brought that same mindset into coaching. She genuinely cares about our student-athletes, puts the team first, serves others, and shows up every day ready to work. She has earned this opportunity, and I am excited to watch her lead our women's flag football program while continuing to make a positive impact with our women's basketball student-athletes. I know she is going to do a great job."
