Keystone Goes 3-1 at Muhlenberg Duals

Giants post wins over Thaddeus Stevens, Southern Virginia, and Temple Club

Allentown, Pa. – Keystone College enjoyed its best showing of the season  on Saturday, winning three of its four matches at the Muhlenberg College Duals.    The Giants defeated Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Southern Virginia University, and Temple University Club before falling to the host Mules to improve to 5-6 on the season.    
 
Match 1 vs. Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology
 
In Saturday's opening match, Keystone defeated Thaddeus Stevens 36-9. Zachary Briggs (Wyoming, Pa./Wyoming Area) picked up a key pin just 55 seconds into his match at the 174 weight class while the Giants picked up five forfeit victories.
 
Match 2 vs. Southern Virginia University
 
Keystone topped Southern Virginia University in Saturday's second contest, 33-18.  Briggs notched his second win of the day at 174 pounds with a 15-13 decision of the Knights' Keaton Gomez.  The Giants again benefited from five forfeit wins.
    
Match 3 vs. Temple University Club
 
The Giants won their third match of the day by defeating Temple University's club squad, 28-15.   Charlie Johnson (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) picked up a pin at the 2:30 mark of the 141 pound bout while Zack LeBarron (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) pinned his opponent at 149 pounds at the 1:24 mark of the contest. George Stilgenbauer (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) scored a major decision win at 165 pounds, 16-7, and the Giants added a pair of forfeit decisions.
 
Match 4 vs. Muhlenberg College
 
In Saturday's finale, Muhlenberg dealt Keystone its only loss of the day with a 32-21 decision over the Giants. Ryan Celenza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) won with a pin at the 2:20 mark of the 133 pound match while Johnson scored a major decision win, 14-6, at 141 pounds.  LeBarron won by technical fall at the 3:46 mark of the 149 pound contest while the Giants also got one forfeit win in their last contest of the day.
