La Plume, Pa. – Keystone College went 2-2 on Sunday on day of wrestling in the Gambal Athletic Center. The Giants won matches over Penn State Schuylkill and SUNY Ulster before dropping contests to the Penn State University wrestling club and Ursinus College to move to 8-10 on the season.
Match 1 vs. Penn State Schuylkill
Keystone opened the day with a 30-12 victory over Penn State Schuylkill.
Jacob Richards (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) earned a pin at the 1:08 mark of the 149 weight class bout to lead the Giants, who had four decision by forfeit to top the Nittany Lions (0-2).
Match 2 vs. SUNY Ulster
Keystone won its second match of the day by defeating SUNY Ulster, 36-12. Richards picked up his second win by fall of the day at the 3:26 mark of the 149 bout before
Zachary Briggs (Wyoming, Pa./Wyoming Area) earned a pin at 165 pounds, topping his opponent at the 3:21 mark. The remaining points were picked up by forfeit while
Thomas Pashinski (Plymouth, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) notched a pin of his own at the 1:58 mark of an exhibition match.
Match 3 vs. Penn State Club
The Penn State wrestling club dealt Keystone its first defeat of the day, topping the Giants 36-22.
Ryan Celenza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) notched a pin at the 1:26 mark of the 133 pound matchup before Pashinski scored a pin 2:02 into the contest at 157 pounds. Briggs earned a major decision at 165 pounds, 16-7, to close out the scoring for Keystone.
Match 4 vs. Ursinus
In Sunday's finale against a strong Ursinus team, Celenza scored his second pin of the afternoon at 133 pounds, defeating his opponent 2:11 into the contest to give Keystone a 12-0 advantage after the Giants opened the match with a pin. The Bears (9-2) ran the table from that point forward though, picking up three falls and one major decision in contested matches on their way to a 46-12 victory.
Josh Rivera (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) posted a pin in an exhibition match to close out the action for the day.

Keystone will return to action on Saturday at the Wilkes University Quad Meet, starting the day at 11:00 a.m. against Washington and Jefferson College before taking on the host Colonels and Oneonta in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
