VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week for March 20, 2023. This includes Players of the Week in Men's Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Men's Lacrosse, and Women's Lacrosse as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.
This week's selections included contests from Monday, March 6 through Sunday, March 19. A total of 35 student-athletes were recognized for their performances.
Men's Volleyball
Offensive Player of the Week
Elijah Herb | Sr. | Lancaster Bible College | OH | Lebanon, Pa. / ELCO
Herb helped the Chargers to a 2-1 week by finishing with 50 kills and 4 blocks over the three matches. On Saturday, Herb had back-to-back team high kills posting 20 kills versus Elizabethtown and 18 kills in a five-set loss to Arcadia. Currently, Herb leads the CSAC in Total Kills (299), Kills per Set (3.65), Points (337), and Points per Set (4.11).
Defensive Player of the Week
Tanner Shertzer | Sr. | Lancaster Bible College | Libero | Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley
Shertzer leads the back line with a total of 39 digs and a 13 digs per game average as the Chargers went 2-1 on the week. In the win against Elizabethtown, Shertzer had 14 digs and 2 kills and, in a five-set loss to Arcadia, 16 digs. Currently, Shertzer leads the CSAC in Total Digs (206) and is 4th in Digs per Set average (2.37).

Bryn Athyn's Jaryn McCann set a new program record with 7 blocks vs. Pratt on Wednesday and totaled 16 kills on the week while Jason Reyes had 12 kills and 3 aces on the week including 20 digs in a win vs. Pratt… Valley Forge's Toby Harris led the Patriots with 16 kills, 2 aces, 11 digs, and a block while Garrett Olsen had 7 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace, and hit .286 vs. Saint Elizabeth… Wilson's Xavier Webber had 16 kills and 2 aces on the week…

Player of the Week
Anthony Raimo (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) | Sr. | Keystone College | 1B | Albany, NY / Christian Brothers Academy
Raimo finished Keystone's 6-1 week hitting .522 (12-for-23) with 4 home runs, 15 RBI, 10 Runs Scored, 2 doubles, 7 walks, 3 HBP's and 2 Stolen Bases. Raimo hit two HRs against Mt. St. Mary (NY), a three-run HR against North Park, and a grand slam vs. FDU-Florham. In the 7 games, Raimo had a Slugging Percentage of 1.130 with a .667 On-Base Percentage. Currently, Raimo is tied for the league lead in Home Runs (4), tied for 2nd with 10 walks, and ranks 3rd in RBIs (15).
Pitcher of the Week
Nathan Hinkley (Bradenton, Fla./Saint Lucie West Centennial) | Sr. | Keystone College | RHP | Bradenton, Fl. / Saint Lucie West Centennial
Hinkley started two games and went 2-0 on the week with wins over Mt. St. Mary (NY) and FDU-Florham for his 30th career victory, becoming the all-time wins leader in Keystone program history. Hinkley had 12 strikeouts over the 10 Innings Pitched (5.0 IP, 8 Ks vs. Mt. St. Mary (NY); 5.0 IP, 4 Ks vs. FDU-Florham) and is currently tied for 2nd in the CSAC with 18 total strikeouts on the season; including 7 of those looking.

Cairn's Sam Spadea hit .444 (12-for-27) with 7 RBI, 2 Doubles and 5 Runs over the Highlander's 7 games this week while Ronaldhino Alcin had a 3-inning save with 2 strikeouts in the Highlanders win over Mt. Aloysius… Rosemont's David McKenney went 5.2 IP, gave up 0 runs, scattered 3 hits and had 4 strikeouts in the win vs. Centenary (NJ)… Saint Elizabeth's Matthew Storch hit .440 (11-for-25) with 5 RBI, 7 Runs Scored during the Eagles' 7 games this week while Justin Lowden picked up the Win vs. Wisconsin Lutheran going 7.0 IP with 5 strikeouts… Valley Forge's Bubs Reeves had a big day in a DH vs. John Jay combining to go 4-for-5 with 4 walks, 10 RBI, 3 Doubles, 1 Home Run, 3 Runs Scored, and a Stolen Base… Wilson's Jordan McKenzie had a big day in a DH vs. Juniata combining to go 6-for-11 with 7 RBI, 5 Runs Scored, 2 Home Runs, 1 Double and a Stolen Base while Jack Pachella picked up his first Win of the season as he went 3.2 IP, 6 Ks and allowed just 2 hits in Game 2 of the DH…

Beck led the Highlanders with a .500 batting average (13-for-26) during spring break this past week. Over the 8 games played, Beck hit .500 with 5 Runs Scored, 5 RBI, 2 Doubles, 2 Triples, a 1.231 OPS, .731 Slugging Percentage, and a .500 On-Base Percentage. Beck also started 3 games on the mound, pitching 8.1 innings on the week and striking out 3 batters.

Gena Donalds | FY. | Notre Dame College of Maryland | P/OF | Allen, Md. / James M. Bennett HS
Donalds earned her first two career wins, defeating John Jay College and Baruch College, for the first two wins of the Gators season. On the week she pitched 8.0 innings, allowed 5 earned runs and struck out two batters.

Cairn's Kacey Wees picked up a Complete Game win over Mt. St. Vincent striking out 7... Cedar Crest's Alexis Kline went 3-for-6 at the plate with a double, an RBI, and a Run Scored in a DH against Penn State-Brandywine while… Keystone's Angelina Morley hit .600 (6-for-10) in five games this week scoring 2 Runs and 2 RBI while Courtney Cienki logged 13.2 innings with 17 strikeouts in three appearances on the week… Notre Dame (MD)'s Lilyian Hafner hit .500 (7-for-14) in four games this week driving in 7 RBI including her first collegiate home run in a win over Baruch College… Wilson's Alyssa Wenger went 4-for-4 in Stolen Bases while scoring 7 runs over the 6 games this week while Makenna Snodgrass struck out 9 batters in 9 innings pitched on the week…

White set the single-game program record for the Lions with 12 points in a 19-6 win over Centenary. White was responsible for 12 of the 19 goals with his 8 goals and 4 assists. This the Lions first 2-0 start since 2015. Currently, White leads the CSAC in Goals per Game (6.5), Assists per Game (4.50), Shots per Game (13.5), and Points per Game (11.0).

Nico Cione | So. | Cairn University | GK | Yardley, Pa. / Pennsbury HS
Cione had 19 saves on 42 shots faced as the Highlanders picked up a Win vs. SUNY-Purchase. Currently, Cione leads the CSAC in Saves Percentage (.597) and Saves per Game (17.8).

Cairn's Jonathan Balsamo scored five of the six goals in the Highlander's first win of the season at SUNY-Purchase… Keystone's Ryan Smith scored two goals with 14 shots (9 on goal) and leads the Giants with 8 goals on the year while Cody Dembski went 17-for-23 on faceoffs with 13 ground balls against Alvernia on Saturday…

Offensive Player of the Week
Shea Gormley | So. | Bryn Athyn College | Attack | Huntingdon Valley, Pa. / Abington HS
Gormley helped the Lions to a dominating 18-4 win over Eastern. Gormley had 8 goals and 1 assist to account for half of the scores while also notching 10 Draw Controls, 3 Ground Balls, and 2 Caused Turnovers. Currently, Gormley leads the CSAC in Goals per Game (4.5), Points per Game (5.0), and Draw Controls per Game (13.0) while sitting 2nd in Shots per Game (9.0).
Defensive Player of the Week
Jill Ahlgren | Jr. | Wilson College | M | Mercersburg, Pa. / Mercersburg HS
Ahlgren paced the defensive in a pair of games on the week. Against Virginia Wesleyan she had 6 caused turnovers, 5 ground balls and 3 draw controls. On Sunday versus St. Vincent she had 4 more caused turnovers, 2 ground balls and 6 draw controls. Currently, Ahlgren leads the CSAC with 4.33 Caused Turnovers; good for 3rd across all of NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse.
